Data Analysis to find the weak spot on the business of Superstore
Hi... there in this task, we will do some data analysis on the dataset of a superstore and try to find out the weak spot of the business.
The dataset is of a superstore situated on north America.
The dataset consists of many features like product name, product category, sales records, profit and loss records etc.
The main task of the analysis is to find the weak spot of the business.
The entire analysis took place in the following steps:-
1. Which Section of the business is performing low?
2. Where the furniture business is running low?
1. Which Section of the business is performing low?
First of all, we will analyse the profile of the entire business.
We can see from the above bar graph the superstore's revenue comes from the three sections of the business.
The superstore does business on three sections.
1. Technology
2. Office supplies
3. Furniture
Out of these three sections, the revenue is generating very low from the furniture section.
On the furniture section, we can see that in comparison to the sales record the revenue is generating very low.
Hence, we will explore the furniture section of the business and try to find out why this section of the business is generating low revenue.
2. Where the furniture business is running low?
Now we know on which section of the business we need to do the analysis.
We will try to find which part of America is running low on the furniture business.
We can see on the above map on the 10 states the superstore is facing the profit on negative on furniture business.
And those 10 states are:
1. Texas
2. Arizona
3. Colorado
4. Oregon
5. Illinois
6. Ohio
7. Pennsylvania
8. Tennessee
9. North Carolina
10. Florida
From above Texas is the state where the furniture business of the superstore is facing a huge business loss on furniture business.
3. On which city the business is facing the loss?
We know the states where the furniture business is running low now its time to find out on which cities the business is running low.
On the above map, we can see the cities of the selected states where the furniture business is running low.
4. What products are facing negative profits on the furniture business?
Now its time to explore which category of the products are making negative profits.
From the above bar graph, we can see that on the furniture bookcases, chairs, furnishings and tables are the products which are dealing with negative numbers.
Among these four the product tables are dealing at a huge loss in the furniture business on the above-listed cities.
5. What is the sales performance of these selected products?
In this section, we will analyse the sales performance of these selected products.
From the above bar graph in case of sales performance, the furnishings is performing very poor in the listed cities.
Hence we found the key points where the business improvements are required.
6. Conclusion
From this analysis, we can conclude that we need to improve the sales and quality of the products related to the furnishing and tables section of the furniture business of the superstore.
